Every year 150,000 American babies are born with birth defects that are an abnormality in the structure or function of the body, many of which are curable. Most of the birth defects detected while the baby is still in the womb are found with the ultrasound technology and other prenatal tests are listed along with the ways they are treated.

All about newborn jaundice

Article Abstract:

Neonatal jaundice is a symptom of an underlying liver disease manifested by the yellowish skin discoloration that can be corrected easily with phototherapy. Jaundice occurs when the infant's liver does not break down bilirubin, which is deposited in the skin and mucous membranes.
