The physical development of infants is generally affected by their mothers' health condition during pregnancy and the time of delivery. Parents must note down the progress of their babies in terms of birthweight, height and head circumference to ensure that they are physically healthy.

What happens at well-baby visits?

Well-baby visits allow doctors to closely examine the growth of a baby and to discover any potential problems. Newborns will have up to six well-baby visits in their first year. Parents learn a lot about infant growth through well-baby visits.
