Letting go of guilt

Guilt is an emotion that can overwhelm a working mother, and negative media coverage and the reaction from a child when a mother goes to work can reinforce feelings of guilt. Working mothers should consider the benefits they and their children receive and reduce their expectations.

Make time for yourself

Working mothers need time alone to pursue activities that interest them because of the psychological rewards such activities provide. Studies show that people who are busy suffer fewer physical ailments and have greater self-esteem. Families also benefit from the activities.
