My father, my friend

A daughter rediscovered a special bond with her father when, as a grown woman and mother of two, she and her dad would ski together. The experiences they shared fostered a special closeness between them that they did not think possible during her teenage years and his preoccupation with work.

'Chatelaine' magazine reunited childhood friends Judy Blakely-Tetz and Connie Wilson who were separated for 30 years. Judy responded to the magazine's offer to help readers find their old friends. Connie saw her name on a long-lost-friends list and called the magazine to obtain Judy's number.

The Canadian Red Cross Society's AquaTots was the only national infant-and-parent swimming program for babies when it was launched in 1996. AquaTots aims to instruct parents the best ways on how to handle babies when swimming and to familiarize the infants to the water.
