Love Your Body Day becoming a popular tradition

Article Abstract:

The 3rd Love Your Body Day, spearheaded by the National Organization of Women's Women's Health Project, was marked with events across the country that sought combat the unhealthy image of the ideal woman promoted by the media. Events helped women and girls gain a more positive body image.

Women's prison population growing

Article Abstract:

The number of women in prisons has increased by 244% since 1988 and they face poor conditions and often longer sentences than men convicted of the same crime. Many women have been convicted of crimes against men who have abused them and face more abuse in prison.
