A young mother diagnosed with breast cancer chronicles the days she spent in the hospital and hew first few days at home after she has been released. Although an impending divorce and the anxieties associated with being diagnosed with cancer often depress her, she is glad to have the love and support of her daughter and friends to sustain her through the dark days.

My surgery is today

Article Abstract:

A woman with breast cancer describes the moments before and after her mastectomy. The morning of her surgery, she found comfort in God's spirit despite her anxieties about the operation. Although the mastectomy had been successful and the support of her loved ones enormous, she worries that the lymph nodes removed from her breast will be found to be cancerous.

Into the unknown

Article Abstract:

A woman diagnosed with breast cancer details her day-to-day experiences as she is scheduled for chemotherapy. Although she felt very sad and depressive after her chemotherapy had to be re-scheduled several times due to the skin breakouts she developed in anticipation of the procedure, she felt lucky in having an intelligent and sensitive doctor.
