It is important for women to know the cause of vaginal itching to treat the condition properly and effectively. Vaginal itching may be caused by a yeast infection, irritation and aging. It can be treated or relieved by simply keeping dry, wearing cotton underwear and using antifungal creams.

Building better doctors

The University of Western Ontario (UWO) in London, UK, has started a new program aimed at creating doctors who are more responsive to patients' needs. UWO doctors are being trained to communicate with and listen to their patients, instead of simply dispensing treatment.

Recent studies show that women can have more adverse reactions to alcohol than men because of their different body type. These reactions can include cirrhosis of the liver, cancer of the esophagus and mouth, infertility and miscarriage.
