Negative behavior among children, which often begins during the 6th month, is a sign of cognitive development. This shows that the child is gaining a sense of independence and learning how to be assertive. When faced with such negativity, parents should be calm and try to understand the child's feelings.

Separation distress

Article Abstract:

Questions and answers about parents with children experiencing separation anxiety are presented. The children have varied problems, such as crying when left at or taken from a care giving situation, crying at night or not crying at all. All forms of this anxiety are completely normal.

Children respond well to bladder and bowel training when they are psychologically and physically ready. Children develop control at the ages of 24 and 36 months, although children learn at their own pace. The parents' role in toilet training is to encourage and guide their children.
