Wendy Williams ruptured a disc in her neck just three months before the 1992 Olympics. Williams is very disappointed that her diving career has ended, but she looks forward to recovering from the injury and from her battle with chronic fatigue syndrome.

Stanford's high achievers

Stanford University won the NCAA women's basketball title in 1992, its second title in three years. Star players Val Whiting and Molly Goodenbour are also high achievers in their academic studies.
