Pesticides: protecting your child

Parents can reduce their children's exposure to pesticide residues by washing fruits and vegetables thoroughly, peeling produce that has a wax coating and buying processed baby food. Ways of reducing pesticide exposure in the home, garden and water supply are described.

Getting the medicine down

Medicine may be made more palatable to children by mixing it with fruit juice or food. Pharmacies can sometimes add pleasant tasting ingredients to medicine. Sometimes gentle force is needed to make a child take it.
