Praising your child: when it's appropriate, when it's not

Most parents believe praising one's child helps build self-esteem although studies revealed that it can actually cause harm in cases of inappropriate praises. People should be specific, sincere, selective and spontaneous whenever praising one's child.

"I'm going to run away!" (dealing with a child's threats)
