Problem periods? If your cycle is erratic, you may have PCOS

Article Abstract:

Women whose menstrual cycle is erratic may be unaware that they are suffering from PCOS. Characterized by excess facial and body hair, obesity, acne, male-pattern balding and patches of dark skin pigmentation, PCOS may cause diabetes and fertility. Although difficult to diagnose, new research suggests that insulin resistance may play a significant role in setting off PCOS.
