An increasing number of athletes are taking up adventure sports such as sky diving, snowboarding, para-gliding and mountain climbing. Many people who participate in these sports are looking for a sense of excitement and challenge that is missing from their everyday lives.

The accomplishments of legendary women athletes such as Babe Didrikson Zaharias are even more impressive considering they often competed in ill-fitting clothes and used equipment made for men. Now, almost every sport has gear specifically made for female athletes.
