Self-talk: a key to self-esteem

Article Abstract:

Children who repeat negative thoughts about themselves can be taught to think positively, and thus raise their self-esteem. Children should be taught to repeat positive messages, and parents and care-givers should reinforce such messages. Higher self-esteem can improve learning.

Parents should plan exciting leisure activities that the family can enjoy together on weekends. Such activities can improve the relationship of family members and stimulate them. Children old enough should help plan the activities so they are more enjoyable.

Capable kids

Article Abstract:

Mothers should allow their children to solve their problems on their own to develop their confidence and self-esteem. Constantly coming to their rescue in difficult situations would only foster dependence and stifle their emotional growth.
