Shin guard

Strengthening the shin muscles through exercise can prevent shin irritation that can cause shinsplint. Many injuries to the shin are due to the changes in surface resiliency that the leg has to adjust to in performing activities and exercises involving the legs.

A leg up

An exercise for the quadriceps or thigh muscles puts little strain on the knees and requires no heavy equipment. Exercising these muscles can reduce knee problems. Instructions on doing the exercise, called the seated leg raise, are given.
