Should you bank on cord blood?

Article Abstract:

Families not at risk of genetic diseases are not advised to bank umbilical cord blood which is used to treat disorders including severe anemias and certain cancers. The initial cost of cord blood harvesting and storage is pegged at $1,000 to $1,500, plus up to $150 in annual maintenance fees.

What your blood knows

Article Abstract:

The human blood is said to be capable of providing doctors with critical information about one's health status. Blood tests are used to diagnose certain diseases such as adult diabetes or fatigue. However, accuracy of those tests still remains an issue.

Should doctors cry?
