Article Abstract:

A law requiring hearing screening for all newborns and an extensive policy statement issued by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) on the correct way for doctors to screen newborns for cataracts, drooping eyelids and other vision problems has helped many parents detect early hearing and vision problems in their newborn infants. Hearing and vision developmental milestones and the different eye problems affecting newborns and young children are discussed.
