Sunflowers

Article Abstract:

The sunflower has evolved throughout the ages which is the reason for its absence in gardens. The Native Americans had many uses for sunflower seeds, oil, roots, seed hulls, leaves and fibrous stems. Later, their ungainly proportions sent them to the farthest reaches of the garden.
