The condom rates high as a protective measure against sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancy. However, most women are embarrassed to buy them, and most likely do not know about what to look for. The safest method to prevent purchasing defective condoms is to only buy the major brands.

The age of alternatives

A growing number of Canadians are using alternative medicine. A 1992 survey showed that one out of five Canadians has turned to alternative medicine within a six-month period. These include chiropractic, herbal medicine and reflexology.
