A second look at antioxidants

Article Abstract:

Two recent studies found that smokers who took beta-carotene supplements actually experienced an increased risk of dying from cancer. However, other studies indicated that antioxidants offer protection from cancer and heart disease. Vitamins E and C are also discussed.

Many Eastern movement and health practioners teach that people have a life force in their bodies known as qi or chi, that is essential to well-being. The concept of qi is subtle, but profound. One woman's experiences with yoga, qi gong and tai chi are recounted.
