Most health researchers believe that a moderate intake of caffeine is safe and temporarily boosts alertness. Some experts think caffeine can improve sports performance, especially endurance activities, but the research is inconclusive. A chart listing common sources of caffeine is presented.

Article Abstract:

Heat, humidity and dehydration can cause athletes to suffer three types of heat-related injuries: heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Drinking plenty of water before and during exercise is the best prevention. Gradually getting used to a new climate also helps.
