Working mothers who have three or more children describe the challenges of the large family and also the rewards. Siblings often build strong bonds and the time the family spends together are valued. Drawbacks include spending time alone with each child and their husbands. Planning is emphasized.

The worry over weight

Article Abstract:

Parents of overweight children should not put the children on a diet, but should change the whole family's eating habits. This includes buying healthier foods, not being too forceful in how much children eat, encouraging exercise and discouraging watching television.

The dairy dilemma

The calcium in milk can help children improve their bone density and reduce their systolic blood pressure, but dairy products can cause health problems in some children. Cow's milk may play a role in the development of insulin-dependent diabetes in infants.
