Upper body strength in mountain biking can be developed by trying to lift a weight bar in a prone position. It is also advised to train the arms for stamina in a variety of terrains. Back pains may be prevented by lifting the arms and legs as high as possible in a prone position.

Meditation through perpetual motion

Cyclists must learn to develop their quadricep muscles, particularly the vastus medialis, which supports majority of pedal movements. This is done by putting a volleyball between the thighs at a sitting position. They are also advised to perform proper stroking techniques.
