Truth and consequences

Article Abstract:

A wife reveals how her husband's radical honesty, which is his propensity to tell the absolute truth, even hurtful ones, used to negatively affect her. She soon realizes that, although radical honesty cannot work for every couple, having the capacity to listen to and accept everything that one's husband has to say and having the freedom to do the same thing to him have injected thrill and excitement into their marriage.

Women who drink too much but not uncontrollably can enroll in DrinkWise, a Canadian-made program formally established in 1991. Opposing the traditional view that only abstinence could cure alcoholism in the long-term, DrinkWise claims that alcohol dependence exists on a mild to severe continuum.
