Voices of women entrepreneurs
Article Abstract:
More women are putting up their own businesses, preferring to work on their own rather than slave away at jobs they no longer feel motivated to continue. A recent survey shows that women are outdistancing men when it comes to entrepreneurship, a trend likely to continue as more women gain the experience and self-confidence that are essential to business success. The independence and respect that come with business ownership is another reason women are trading their jobs to become entrepreneurs.

Embracing ABWA's entrepreneurs
Article Abstract:
The American Business Women's Assn. operates via chapters which are networks where members can share their business expertise with others. This system has proven effective in developing entrepreneurs among members. Chapters can further improve their operation by pursuing the following activities: creation of a special interest group, member education on business matters, networking beyond the chapter and promotion of business concerns via a newsletter.
