Husbands and wives from the baby boom generation may have more difficulty in caring for their partners than their parents did. This is due to growing emphasis on the independence of both sexes. However, giving unselfishly may be the mark of a relationship destined to last until old age.

It is ironic that the technological revolution that has helped make life easier for people has also brought about a culture that fosters social alienation. People should look for more opportunities to encourage social interaction and rediscovery.
