Black women, or any dark-skinned women, who decides to go blonde should pick a shade of hair coloring that complements their skin tones and yet the preparation should not damage the hair. Some observers think that going blonde is against a black women's cultural heritage.

Dark-skinned people need not apply sunscreen formula when staying under the sun for a long period of time, according to a dermatologist at the Duke University. Dark people possess huge amount of melanin enough to protect the body from harmful ultraviolet radiation.
