The prevalence of multiple sclerosis (MS) in Canada has fueled research on the causes and treatment of the disease. Among the latest breakthroughs is the biotech drug Betaseron which can delay the onset of MS symptoms in patients.

Article Abstract:

Folic acid lowers homocysteine levels in individuals with two copies of a mutation in the MTHFR gene. Persons with two mutation copies suffer from a 30%-100% rise in homocystein levels and increased risks for heart attacks.
