Your baby's first home: how your baby is nourished and supported in the womb before birth

Article Abstract:

The prenatal support system of a baby is broken down into its separate functions and discussed in terms of how it feeds and supports the baby. The placenta nourishes the baby through the arteries in the umbilical cord. The amniotic sac holds the baby and protects it while it develops.
