A new method for depicting animal step patterns

Article Abstract:

A new method for depicting animal step patterns was developed. The new method has the advantage of viewing global step patterns and thus may be helpful in understanding the physiological basis of animal gait. A unique number is generated to represent the pattern of feet touching the ground. The patterns are arranged in a grid and the sequence of the gait is represented by a sequence of the generated unique numbers.

Conflict resolution in 5-year-old boys: Does postconflict affiliative behaviour have a reconciliatory role?

Article Abstract:

Affiliative behaviors in nonhuman primates are more frequent after an aggressive interactions. The affiliative behaviours of five year old boys in the postconflict period were studied to determine if there was a similar reconciliatory function. When affiliative behaviours were shown, aggressive and displacement behaviours decreased and play was promoted.

What does robotics offer animal behaviour?

Article Abstract:

An evaluation is presented of the increasing body of research using robots and the extent to which it can assist in the study of animal behaviour. New hypotheses for animal behaviour are being generated by such research and it is proposed that this will be even more beneficial in future years.
