Scientists have discovered that a drug reservatrol counteracts the ill effects of a high-fat, high-calorie diet in mice. The finding is potentially revolutionary, but those humans desperate to undo the effects of years of overeating would have to wait longer, as the drug's effect on humans is yet to be proved.

The plans for a vaccine for Alzheimer's disease were stalled when serious side effects were revealed by the clinical trials, however, this approach could be about to get back on track. Alzheimer causes tissue damage in the brain that may lead to memory loss and changes in personality of the patient.
