An eagle's-eye view: four large eagle species nest in a small Kazakhstan nature reserve

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on the Naurzumski Gosudarstvennyi Zapovednik, or the Naurzum State Nature Reserve, located in Kazakhstan near the Russian border. The reserve is home to many different raptor populations, including four eagle species: golden, steppe, imperial, and white-tailed sea eagle. Research projects include diet and spatial behavior, as no species appears to be outcompeting the others even though the habitat is shared.
