An expressed pseudogene regulates the messenger-RNA stability of its homologous coding gene

Article Abstract:

The role of an expressed pseudogene in a transgene-insertion mouse mutant exhibiting polycystic kidneys and bone deformity is reported. The findings demonstrated a specific regulatory role of an expressed pseudogene, and pointed to the functional significance of non-coding RNAs.

Summing up the noise in gene networks

Article Abstract:

The noise associated with the principal steps of the central dogma of molecular biology is examined. The different studies to a simple variant of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem are connected and the experimental controls reinterpret the conclusions.
