An island adventure: kick back and enjoy Louisville Zoo's latest exhibit

Article Abstract:

The $11.5 million Islands - the Indonesian Village exhibit at the Louisville Zoo in Louisville, KY, offers visitors the chance to enjoy three Islands Stream habitats. Species rotate in the exhibit, requiring zoo workers to manage diverse animal behavior and provide complex housing arrangements. The exhibit also features a walk-through aviary with more than 500 island bird species. The Village Commons area has hands-on activities for children.

A tale of metamorphosis: San Antonio creates an exhibit solely for amphibians

Article Abstract:

An exhibition of amphibians at the San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium is described. The mission of the separate exhibition of amphibians is to educate the public concerning the unique classification of the animals and their diversity.

Way of the wolf: can timber wolves come back to the Northeast?

Article Abstract:

The proposals of different methods to reintroduce timber wolves into the US Northeast are described. The benefits and potential drawbacks of a natural migration-based recovery versus an organized translocation of the wolves are addressed.
