AtSNX1 defines an endosome for auxin-carrier trafficking in Arabidopsis

Article Abstract:

Arabidopsis thalina SORTING NEXIN 1 (AtSNX1) is shown to be involved in the auxin pathway and that auxin efflux (PIN2), but not PIN1 or auxin influx (AIX1), is transported through AtSNX1-containing endosomes. The analysis has revealed the existence of a novel endosomal compartment involved in PIN2 endocytic sorting and plant development.

The F-box protein TIR1 is an auxin receptor

Article Abstract:

A demonstration that the interaction between transport inhibitor response 1 (TIR1) and Aux/IAA proteins does not require stable modification of either protein is presented using an in vitro pull-down assay. The results indicate that TIR1 is an auxin receptor that mediates Aux/IAA degradation and auxin-regulated transcription.

Auxin action

Article Abstract:

Auxins cause rapid changes in gene expression and two families of proteins are identified in auxin response factors (ARFs) and Aux/IAA proteins. The genes encoding Aux/IAA proteins initially seemed to fit the mould of 'early response genes' as their expression increased rapidly following exposure to auxin.
