Article Abstract:

Rock iguanas are plant-eaters that grow to be 30 inches long, qualifying them as the largest native terrestrial animals in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British protectorate in the Caribbean about 90 miles north of the Dominican Republic. About 1,500 iguanas live on Little Water Cay, which has been set aside as a reserve.

The birds and the bees

Article Abstract:

Bronx Zoo's animal enrichment is an exciting part of the guest experience. Keepers at the Bronx Zoo's World of Birds, replicate life in the wild for African bee-eaters by tossing insects into the air for the birds to catch and provide bees from the hive installed on the buildings' roof.

In the eye of the beholder: birds see the light and bold, beautiful colors

Article Abstract:

The differences between scarlet macaw luminescent pastels and human eye are given. Human eye can capture 400 to 700 nanometers of the color spectrum, but birds have an additional cone type to see 300 nanometers.
