Blockade of DII4 inhibits tumor growth by promoting non-productive angiogenesis

Article Abstract:

The study is conducted to show that vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) dynamically regulates tumor endothelial expression of Delta-like ligand 4 (Dll4). Results show that VEGF-induced Dll4 acts as a negative regulator of tumor angiogenesis and its blockade results in a striking uncoupling of tumor growth from vessel density, thus presenting a novel therapeutic approach for tumors resistant to anti-VEGF therapies.

Gridlock in the blood

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the research which has been carried out on zebrafish embryos to determine the selection of precursor cells and their development into veins, arteries and capillaries. The role of the gridlock gene is discussed.

Gridlock signalling pathway fashions the first embryonic artery

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the influence of angioblast precursors in the vasculogenesis of veins, arteries and capillaries in the embryos of the zebrafish. The importance of the gridlock signalling pathway is discussed.
