Carbon credits for the Joneses

Article Abstract:

The UK government has considered issuing all British adults with an annual carbon allowance in order to focus people's attention on conserving energy. Researchers who have studied the idea are of the view that domestic quotas are a sensible way to extend emissions trading to the personal level, and unlike a blanket carbon tax, encourages individuals to think about their emissions.

Lawyers blast nuclear pact as a breach of disarmament treaty

Article Abstract:

The 9158 Mutual Defense Agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom is due for a renewal, which according to British lawyers would breach the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NPT). However, as both countries have signed the NPT, which came into force in 1970, there is a need for them to work towards disarmament.

Media attack prompts editorial backlash against MMR study

Article Abstract:

Editors The Lancet launched a media strike after learning that the Sunday times was investigating undeclared conflicts of interest by linking autism with the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine. The paper triggered huge public controversy over the safety of the MMR.
