Catastrophic Reproductive Failure, Terrestrial Survival, and Persistence of the Marbled Salamander

Article Abstract:

Research on marbled salamander populations at Rainbow Bay, South Carolina show that while catastrophic reproductive failure does not pose an extinction risk, frequency of failure and decrease in life span do. A model delineating extinction risk is provided.

Effects of Warming Conditions in Eastern North American Forests on Red-Backed Salamander Morphology

Article Abstract:

Changes in striping in morphotypes of red-backed salamander can be attributed to forest disturbance and regional climate warming in eastern North America. Research data are provided.
