A clonogenic common myeloid progenitor that gives rise to all myeloid lineages

Article Abstract:

Cell-surface markers and flow cytometry were used to identify, purify and characterize a complementary clonogenic common myeloid progenitor that gives rise to myeloid lineages. The common lymphoid progenitor and common myeloid progenitor populations are said to reflect early branch points between lymphoid and myeloid lineages.

Cell-fate conversion of lymphoid-committed progenitors by instructive actions of cytokines

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the role played by cytokines in the regulation of cell survival and growth through haemato-lymphopoiesis. Mutations of the progenitors are discussed.

A role for Wnt signalling in self-renewal of haematopoietic stem cells

Article Abstract:

Research shows that Wnt signalling mediates heamatopoietic stem cells (HSCs) growth as demonstrated by the in vivo response of HSCs to Wnt signalling and inhibitors of Wnt signalling pathway inhibiting HSC growth in vitro and reduced reconstitution in vivo. The expression of HSCs self-renewal genes is enhanced by Wnt signalling activation. Together, data indicate that Wnt signalling is criticall for HSC homeostasis.
