Changing sex

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on fish species that can alter their gender in response to sex ratio or environmental triggers. While most fish can change their sexual function once, the coral-dwelling Gobies, Gobiodon and Paragobiodon, are able to shift from one gender to another and back again by changing the entire gonad.

Consuming passions

Article Abstract:

A description is presented on life inside a mud-dauber wasp nest. Mud-dauber larvae each have separate nest cells to prevent them from feeding on each other; however, larvae are susceptible to predation by smaller wasps, who can invade the nest.
