Climate debate must not overheat

Article Abstract:

An organization of private companies and business trade associations, the Global Climate Coalition (GCC), alleges that a report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is different from that approved by the working group. However, GCC's criticism aims to undermine the report's findings of human impact on the environment. According to IPCC, editorial changes are legal and are made to simplify the text. However, the importance of certain arguments in the report were changed by editing. Credibility of the reviewing process is essential for maintaining the integrity of results.

Palaeocene therapsid debate

Article Abstract:

H.-D. Sues contests the identification of Chronoperates as a Paleocene therapsid reptile, and implies that it must be a mammal instead. But Sues does not specify which of the several competing definitions of mammals he has in mind, so it is not clear by what criteria he classifies Chronoperates as a mammal. Also, he dismisses the therapsid-like dental features as artefacts of preservation, not legitimate anatomical features. But since he has never examined the specimen, this reflects only his expectation. The evidence supports identification of Chronoperates as a therapsid.
