Co-option of a default secretory pathway for plant immune responses

Article Abstract:

The article discusses a new co-option of a default secretory pathway of the plasma-membrane-resident PEN1 for improving the plant immune responses. The findings show that the PEN1-SNAP33-VAMP (vesicle-associated membrane proteins)721/722 complex leads to the execution of the immune responses through focal secretion.

SNARE-protein-mediated disease resistance at the plant cell wall

Article Abstract:

Resistance in barley requires a SNAP-25 homologue capable of forming a binary synaptosome-associated protein (SNAP) receptor (SNARE) complex with ROR2 is demonstrated. Different functions associated to SNARE-dependent penetration resistance is mentioned.

A barley cultivation-associated polymorphism conveys resistance to powdery mildew

Article Abstract:

The barley plants carrying the loss-of-function alleles (mlo) are studied for determining the barley cultivation-associated polymorphism. It is seen that barley-cultivation-associated polymorphism could be responsible for resistance to powdery mildew.
