Complete photo-fragmentation of the deuterium molecule

Article Abstract:

All properties of molecules-from binding and excitation energies to their geometry-are determined by the highly correlated initial-state wave function of the electrons and nuclei. Studying the break-up of these systems into their constituents can reveal details of these correlations. It is revealed that the correlated motion of the electrons is strongly dependent on the inter-nuclear separation in the molecular ground state at the instant of photon absorption.

Counterfactual quantum computation through quantum interrogation

Article Abstract:

Counterfactual computation is demonstrated implementing Grover's search algorithm with an all-optical approach. Using a novel 'chained' version of the quantum Zeno effect, the counterfactual inference probability is boosted to unity, thereby beating the random guessing limit and in certain circumstances, counterfactual computation can eliminate errors induced by decoherence.

Experimental determination of entanglement with a single measurement

Article Abstract:

A linear optics experiment is reported in which direct observation of a pure-state entanglement measure, namely concurrence is obtained. The measurement set up includes two copies of a quantum state that are prepared in polarization and momentum degrees of freedom of two photons and concurrence is measured with a single, local measurement in just one of the photons.
