Conflicts between leseer kestrel conservation and European agricultural policies as identified by habitat use analyses

Article Abstract:

Habitat use analyses show that European agricultural practices are harmful to species conservation. Agricultural development alters wildlife habitats such as those of the lesser kestrel, changing prey availability and nesting opportunity. Practices most damaging to habitats include the eradication of fallow systems and field margins, and the rising use of biocide treatments.

Improving habitat models and their utility in koala conservation on private lands

Article Abstract:

Current habitat models of koala could be improved by using radiotracking and survey methods. Manageable predictive models will be possible with the support and expertise of people who are able to produce such models.

Habitat loss and changes in the specie-area relationship

Article Abstract:

Species-area relationship (SAR) was used to predict extinction from extent of habitat reduction. Results indicate that habitat destruction can change the SAR and predict the number of species likely to be lost.
