Detection of an oxygen atmosphere on Juptier's moon Europa

Article Abstract:

Examination of the atmosphere of Europa, the second largest satellite out from Jupiter, by Hubble Space Telescope reveals the existence of atomic oxygen emissions from Europa. Electrons from Jupiter's magnetosphere dissociate and excite the atmospheric O2, which account for the presence of atomic oxygen emission. The surface pressure of molecular oxygen atmosphere in Europa is about 10(super -11) that of the Earth's atmosphere of sea level.

Saturn's mixed magnetosphere

Article Abstract:

A unique opportunity to study the planets magnetosphere and to compare it with the Earth was presented when interplanetary shock waves hit the Cassini spacecraft in January 2004. The evaluation indicates that some of the Saturn's magnetosphere are distinct to itself but some are like the Earth's magnetosphere and some are like Jupiter.

Detection of the hydroxyl radical in the Saturn magnetosphere

Article Abstract:

Neutral hydroxide molecules near the orbit of Tethys have been detected using the Faint Object Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope. Neutral hydroxide is one of the dominant species in Saturn's inner magnetosphere, indicating that the source rate for water is twenty times greater than current estimates.
