Populations of three species of Asian Gyps vultures namely, the white-rumped, the long-billed and the slender billed are expected to go extinct in the wildlife in South Asia. Turtles in trouble

Article Abstract:

Keeled box turtle of Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries faces extinction as it is collected and sold for soup pot and further used in traditional Chinese medicine. Some of the conservation options adopted include affixing radio-transmitters to the shell of 13 turtles to gather data on home range sizes, habitat preferences and changes in activity over the course of a year.
