Gene flow maintains a large genetic difference in clutch size at a small spatial scale

Article Abstract:

A persistent difference in mean clutch size between two subpopulations only a few kilometers apart that has a major genetic component is shown by using data on a spatially structured island population of great tits. The immigrants from outside the island carry genes for large clutches is also presented.

Cooperate with thy neighbor?

Article Abstract:

The cooperation between the individuals to interact with each other considers two features that are spatial structure and finite size. The infinite population is provided with the cooperators and defectors among which the reason for the evolution of cooperation is tested and presented.

Sustained division of the attentional spotlight

Article Abstract:

Moveable spotlight or zoom lens is an ability to focus attention upon specific zones of the visual field. Experiments indicate that the spotlight of spatial attention may be divided between non-contiguous zones of the visual field for very brief stimulus exposures.
