Generation of nuclear transfer-derived pluripotent ES cells from cloned Cdx2-deficient blastocysts

Article Abstract:

Nuclear transfer is used to derive mouse blastocysts from donor fibroblasts that carried a short hairpin RNA construct targeting Cdx2. Cloned blastocysts were morphologically abnormal, lacked functional trophoblast and failed to implant into the uterus, but they efficiently generated pluripotent embryonic stem cells when explanted into culture

A single population of olfactory sensory neurons mediates innate avoidance behaviour in Drosophila

Article Abstract:

Observation regarding the fact that Drosophila exhibit robust avoidance to odours released by stressed flies is discussed. These data demonstrate that the activation of a single population of sensory neurons innervating one glomerulus is responsible for an innate avoidance behaviour in Drosophila.

Mice cloned from olfactory sensory neurons

Article Abstract:

Cloning by nuclear transplantation is successfully carried out in various mammals including mice. Fertile mouse clones derived by transferring the nuclei of post-mitotic, olfactory sensory neurons into oocytes are generated, the report on which is presented.
