How reliable is the biological time clock?

Article Abstract:

Theoretical framework that describes the effect of temperature and body size on biological processes, are given. To derive a general definition of biological time elegant combination of the first principles of biochemical kinetics and allometric growth is used.

Reduction of hysterisis losses in the magnetic refrigerant Gd5Ge2Si2 by the addition of iron

Article Abstract:

The magnetocaloric effect is the change in temperature of a material as a result of the alignment of its magnetic spins that occurs on exposure to an external magnetic field. The phenomenon forms the basis for magnetic refrigeration.

Modelling developmental time and temperature

Article Abstract:

Magnitude of the effect of temperature on the rate of development is roughly the same at all life stages and for all species. The effect of temperature on development rate varies significantly during the course of development.
